1:1 Autism Support Assistant

£350-450 per week (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)

About the role
This EYFS, Primary, Secondary and Post-16 SEND school, based in South Tyneside is looking to appoint a passionate 1:1 Autism Support Assistant to work in either Key Stage 1, 2, 3 or 4 classes on a full-time basis. Working in this SEND school as part of an established team, the desired 1:1 Autism Support Assistant will be working on a 1:1 basis with pupils with SEND including Autism, MLD, SLD, PMLD, ADHD, Specific Learning Difficulties, Complex Medical Needs and Speech and Language Difficulties. This full time 1:1 Autism Support Assistant role is long term from January ongoing with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right person. You must be happy with feeding and changing and being involved in hydrotherapy sessions supporting children in and out of the pool. There is a requirement to help with moving and supporting the children. Manual handling training is not essential but desirable.

Requirements
- Experience of working with primary or secondary school aged children.
- Experience of working with pupils with SEND
