Vision for Education are recruiting for 1:1 Autism Support Assistants with experience of working with SEND children, young people or vulnerable adults to work in a SEND school in South Tyneside.
About the role
In your role as a Autism Support Assistant you will help the teacher in the delivery of the curriculum and ensuring all students are supported both academically and emotionally. You will work closely with students who have a diagnosis of Autism, promoting Speech and Language and promoting Positive Behaviour Strategies.
About the school
The school is based in South Tyneside and caters for children and young people aged 4-18 years who have a variety of SEND including MLD, SLD, ADHD, ASC, Speech and Language difficulties and specific learning difficulties. Each pupil has a EHCP and has access to a variety of services and visiting practitioners to support their development. Some students suffer from social vulnerabilities, anxiety and mental health difficulties and require extra support for their emotional needs, however they do not present with disruptive behaviours. All pupils are working significantly below their peers of a similar age.
As a school they create a safe and inclusive centre of excellence by providing a stimulating environment where learners achieve challenging and inspirational targets in order to develop as happy, confident and independent learners who are prepared for adulthood.
Requirements
- DBS on the update service.
- Ready to start work as soon as possible.
- Previous experience of working with SEND children, young people or vulnerable adults with Autism or SEND.
- Happy to assist with personal care.
About Vision for Education
Salary
£300 to £450 per week
- Previous experience of working with or supporting children, young people or vulnerable adults with Autism or SEND.
