Full time 1:1 Teaching Assistant position available for an immediate start through Vision for Education in Chesterfield. This will be supporting a KS3 student with social emotional and mental health needs.

This opportunity would be ideal for someone who is seeking a 1:1 teaching assistant role that specialises in working with students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
Due to needs of the students that attend this school, this role requires someone who has a nurturing yet resilient approach within the classroom, it is essential that you have previous experience in this area in either educational or residential setting.
Working as a 1:1 teaching assistant you will be required to build positive rapport with the young person and be willing to build a sound understanding of their needs. Consistency and continuity is key for this role and therefore excellent references from previous roles will be required.
About the school
Set in Chesterfield, this school specialises in the education of students who have education health care plans for SEMH or have been permanently or temporarily excluded from mainstream school, due to being disengaged from education. Needs of students may include social, emotional and mental health difficulties and SEND including ASD, ADHD, PDA and attachment disorders, through a holistic therapeutic approach.

Requirements
- At least 3 months experience in a SEMH or PRU setting
- Ideally have your team teach level 2 training or other de-escalation training or be willing to do this through our agency free of charge
- Hold an enhanced child and adult workforce DBS which is registered to the update service – Vision can assist with obtaining this if required
- Able to commute to rural south Chesterfield (own transport is highly beneficial due to limited bus routes)
- Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of specialist teachers
- Have a passion for supporting students and teachers, with the ability to work in small groups and on a 121 basis

Salary
£350 to £400 per week
- 3 months relevant experience working with children, young people or adults in an education or residential setting.
