The School and Role

An Alternative Provision school based in Bournemouth are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to start in September 2024. The school caters for primary and secondary pupils aged 6 - 16 years with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, ASD, and various other needs including trauma, school phobia Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD). All learners have an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

The Behaviour Support Assistant role is an amazing opportunity for somebody who wants to make a difference to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and support young people to access education. You will offer guidance and support both in the classroom, and also with their social and emotional development.

Requirements

The desired Support Assistant will have;

- Experience of working with primary and/or secondary school aged children

- Experience of working with pupils with SEND/SEMH and challenging behaviour.

- A passion for the progress of pupils

- An ability to work as part of a team
