We are recruiting for Classroom Assistants / Cover Supervisors to provide teaching cover at schools across the York area starting ASAP.

About the role

Are you considering a career in teaching and looking for experience in a school setting? Cover Supervisors are suitably trained school staff who supervise pupils carrying out pre-prepared classes when teaching staff are on short-term absence. The Cover Supervisor's main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set.

The role would be perfect for anyone looking to gain experience before applying for a teaching qualification.

You will be confident and enthusiastic, with the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of young people and fellow colleagues.

***This is an excellent opportunity to gain paid experience, prior to starting a Teacher Training course***

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Teaching Assistant - York Secondary School you will:

  • Have experience working with young people
  • Have a high level of literacy and numeracy
  • Have excellent behaviour management skills
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of educational professionals
