Vision For Education are recruiting on behalf of a Secondary School based in Tunbridge Wells for a Design & Technology Teacher .The school is a vibrant and inclusive secondary school located in Tunbridge Wells. Job Overview:
The school are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and inspiring Design & Technology Teacher to join the team. The successful candidate will have a passion for Design & Technology education and a commitment to fostering a creative, supportive, and innovative learning environment. This role is ideal for a teacher who is eager to contribute to a thriving department and to inspire students at both Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities to develop Key Stage 5 teaching in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Design & Technology.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of curriculum resources and schemes of work.
  • Inspire students by providing a range of practical and theoretical D&T experiences, from foundational skills to more advanced projects.
  • Support students in achieving excellent outcomes and fostering a love for learning within the field.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing constructive feedback and setting challenging targets.
  • Maintain and promote high standards of behavior, organization, and safety within the classroom and workshop environments.
  • Work collaboratively with the department and across the school to contribute to a vibrant educational experience.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Design & Technology or a related subject.
  • Experience: Proven teaching experience in Design & Technology, preferably within a secondary school setting.
  • Skills and Attributes:
    • Strong knowledge of D&T curriculum and current trends in technology and design education.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • A proactive approach to engaging and inspiring students from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
    • Commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of the school, though all qualified candidates are welcome to apply.
