This 11-18 secondary school in Chelmsford, are looking to appoint a dedicated and committed English Teacher to work in a progressive school with Sixth Form. Working in this Secondary School as part of an established team, the desired English Teacher must be able to teach English Language and Literature to GCSE and your specialist subject to A-Level. This is an excellent opportunity for an English Teacher who is seeking a high-achieving school with Sixth Form. Staff at this school feel supported by SLT, and students are encouraged to achieve academically, with students in the 2024 cohort going onto Oxbridge and Russell Group Universities.

This English teacher role is a permanent role starting in September 2025 and is suitable for ECT’s.

Requirements

The desired English Teacher will;

• Plan creative lessons that inspire a love of learning language and literature.
• Have confidence, passion and enthusiasm to ensure students are engaged in lessons.
• Be responsible for assessing students against learning outcomes and ensuring all groups of students make progress.
• Be able to ensure that students can effectively converse, write and communicate in multiple languages.
• Encourage the wider exploration of speech, creative writing and textual analysis to emphasise the importance of English in the world outside of education.
• Have a good knowledge of the UK Curriculum.
• PGCE in English with QTS and right to work in the UK.
• Suitable for ECTs!
