We are looking for an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across an excellent school in the Hitchin area. We are looking for someone who is dynamic and hardworking to join a caring staff team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant HLTA) to work across an excellent school in the Hitchin area. We are looking for someone who is dynamic and hardworking to join a caring staff team.

Following their most recent Ofsted inspection it was stated that this school were rated Good in all areas. They stated that:

“This is a happy place for pupils to learn and play. The school is like a big family where everybody supports each other and welcomes others.”

This school offers a positive learning environment and good quality professional development.

In this role you would be supporting the Class Teacher in raising achievement of the class by planning and implementing a programme of activities. You will also be expected to liaise with parents and other stake holders.

The HLTA role will primarily involve covering classes (mostly for covering teacher training/meetings and illness and so will be planned by the class teacher) with some of the following when required:

  • Covering PPA time
  • Working with whole class, small groups and individuals.
  • Delivering interventions.
  • The role is for 29 hours per week and has the potential to become a permanent post.

Requirements

The desired Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have;

A good standard of English and Mathematics

HLTA qualification or equivalent.

A passion for the progress of Primary school pupils

An ability to work as part of a team
