About the role

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HLTA to join an excellent staff team or alternatively for a Teaching Assistant with relevant experience looking for their next challenge.

35 hours per week Term-time plus one week (39 weeks per year)

Role Purpose

We require a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to provide extra support to students and staff.

The HLTA will be required to manage classes and to appropriately deliver the work set by the teacher to a high standard, answering any questions to the best of their ability and keeping the pupils on task while maintaining good order.

When not covering whole classes, the HLTA will be required to provide in class support during other colleague’s lessons, under the direction of the Senior Leadership Team. This could include supporting individual pupils, small groups or pupils with specific learning needs.

Skills & Experience

The successful applicant will have Level 2 qualifications in both English and Maths of grade A*- C.

Essential: Experiencing of leading small group work or classes

Essential: Strong mathematical and grammatical knowledge

You will have a good knowledge of safeguarding regulations and experience of classroom management.
