Higher-Level Teaching Assistant - Newport
We are looking for an experienced Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team, working across a range of supportive and friendly primary schools in Newport. In this role, you will support teachers by delivering high-quality education across the Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2. About the Role:

Supervise and deliver lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students stay engaged and work effectively.

Support the delivery of lessons by assisting students in understanding tasks and learning materials.

Provide tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Additional Learning Needs (ALN), ensuring they receive the necessary resources for their success.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging good behaviour and engagement.

Support small groups or individual students to help them reach their individual learning goals.

Assist teachers in preparing and organizing learning resources and classroom activities.

Contribute to the smooth running of the classroom environment, maintaining focus and discipline.
The Ideal Candidate:

Experience as an HLTA in a school setting, with a strong understanding of classroom management.

Holds a Level 4 qualification (or higher) in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or similar) or possesses relevant experience.

Demonstrates a patient, proactive, and adaptable approach, especially when working with children with SEN/ALN.

Confident in supporting students with a range of diverse needs, including behavioural challenges or learning difficulties.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.

Committed to professional development and a passion for ongoing learning.

Essential Requirements:

A Level 4 qualification (or similar) in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent experience.
