Higher-Level Teaching Assistant - Newport

We are looking for an experienced Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team, working across a range of supportive and friendly primary schools in Newport. In this role, you will support teachers by delivering high-quality education across the Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2. About the Role:

• Supervise and deliver lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students stay engaged and work effectively.

• Support the delivery of lessons by assisting students in understanding tasks and learning materials.

• Provide tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Additional Learning Needs (ALN), ensuring they receive the necessary resources for their success.

• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging good behaviour and engagement.

• Support small groups or individual students to help them reach their individual learning goals.

• Assist teachers in preparing and organizing learning resources and classroom activities.

• Contribute to the smooth running of the classroom environment, maintaining focus and discipline.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience as an HLTA in a school setting, with a strong understanding of classroom management.

• Holds a Level 4 qualification (or higher) in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or similar) or possesses relevant experience.

• Demonstrates a patient, proactive, and adaptable approach, especially when working with children with SEN/ALN.

• Confident in supporting students with a range of diverse needs, including behavioural challenges or learning difficulties.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.

• Committed to professional development and a passion for ongoing learning.

Essential Requirements:
