About the role
We work with Virtual Schools across Greater Manchester who need 1:1 tuition for their Looked After Children in Trafford. We are looking for a passionate LAC Teacher to work 1:1 in the community with Key Stage 1 – 4 students. Working with Virtual Schools, the desired LAC Teacher will be delivering core subjects and providing pastoral support. This LAC Teacher role is long term, working towards desired outcomes e.g. reintegration into school. Sessions can be one - five hours per day (during or after school hours) depending on the student's needs.
About the school
Tuition sessions can be requested by local authorities, mainstream schools or alternative provisions, with sessions usually taking place in venues such as:
- Libraries,
- Residential homes
- Schools
- The family home (providing an appropriate adult is present)
Requirements
- An ability to deliver core subjects
- Experience of working with pupils with SEND
- A passion for working with student disengaged from education
- A positive, non-judgemental approach
- Right to work in the UK
