Vision for education are looking to employ a learning support assistant on a full-time basis to work in a local primary school in Roath.
The role of a learning support assistant is to support the class teacher in helping pupils learn, engage and get the most out of their learning in school. You will be based in a mainstream primary school, supporting children of all primary ages to access the national curriculum.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a highly regarded primary school and the opportunity to learn from experienced education professionals.
Requirements
- As part of this role you will need a DBS registered with the update service
(support with this process can be provided)
- Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willing to register
- Provide at least 2 references
- Willing to complete safeguarding and other CPD courses
- Have a passion for education and desire to create a positive learning environment for children
- Available full time, Monday to Friday
- Reliable and consistent member of staff
Key Responsibilities of an LSA:
- Assist the class teacher with daily routines and activities, ensuring a safe and stimulating learning environment
- Work with small groups of pupils, offering additional support for reading and writing activities
- Support pupils with learning difficulties on a 1:1 basis
- Foster the development of social and emotional skills in young learners
- Collaborate with the class teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons and learning resources
- Assist with monitoring and recording pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher where necessary
- Uphold the school's policies and values, ensuring the well-being and safety of all pupils
