Vision for Education are looking to recruit experienced Learning Support Mentors for a school in South Tyneside to support pupils with SEMH needs.
About the role
In your role as a Learning Support Mentor you will help the teacher in the delivery of the curriculum and ensuring all students are supported both academically and emotionally. You will be working with pupils experiencing barriers to learning related to SEMH and other needs and get them to take pride in their learning, communicate effectively and develop pro-social and independent skills. You will be helping students to become responsible, regulated, respectful and ready for the work place.
Applications are welcomed from anyone with a passion to improve the lives of young people that may not have had the best start, and who struggle with their mental health and behaviour.
About the school
The school is based in South Tyneside which is a fully inclusive place of learning which ensures that all pupils achieve their potential personally, socially, emotionally, physically and educationally. The school welcomes pupils from KS1 to KS4 from across the Borough when they are unable to attend mainstream school. This may be because they are permanently excluded or at risk of this, struggling to maintain attendance because of anxiety or crisis, or new to the local area and have Special Educational Needs. The pupils have challenging behaviour due to their Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs and require support.
