Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a SEND teacher to teach in a KS4 secondary class in a SEND school located in Barnsley to cover maternity. The teacher will be expected to teach a range of life skills following the Preparing for Adulthood framework.
About the role
Most of the students attending the school experience social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) or emotional behavioural difficulties (EBD). Vision for Education are currently seeking an experienced secondary teacher who can embark on this fantastic opportunity.

About the school
The school is located in Barnsley and specialises in supporting young people with SEMH and EBD needs. The school caters for young people ranging from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5 and is split across 2 sites. The school caters for a broad range of needs. This is an extremely rewarding environment to work in but can be challenging.

Requirements
- • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) Primary or Secondary subject specialism
- • Experience working with children with a variety of SEND including but not limited to, MLD/SLD/PMLD/ASD/SEMH/SEBD/PD/VI/HI and other complex needs
- • Have previous experience within a similar specialist setting or strong transferable experience from a mainstream setting
- • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of SEND Teachers and LSA’s
- • Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons
About Vision for Education
Salary
£110 to £160 per day
- UK QTS/QTLS and experience working with students with special educational needs.
