We are seeking to appoint two PEP Advisors to work for looked after children. Taking responsibility for a case load of children, you will take the lead in ensuring they receive the best possible educational experience.

About the role

This will involve teaching and direct intervention, supporting staff in schools, ensuring all statutory educational requirements are fulfilled and liaising closely between cares, schools and colleagues within the Authority.

We are looking for someone with significant experience of working with vulnerable learners who can demonstrate a successful track record of improving academic outcomes through working collaboratively.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the ambition and skills to support us in our shared goal of providing an outstanding service. If you are passionate about improving children's life chances and enjoy working in a fast paced environment, you may be the right person for us.

About the school

The school is responsible for improving educational outcomes for looked after children, previously looked after children and children with a social worker. The school brings together information about the children and young people they care for as if they were in a single school allowing them to track pupils' progress, and make sure they're getting the help and support they need.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of PEP Advisor you will:
  • Previous experience working directly with vulnerable children in an education setting.
  • An understanding of the effect of trauma and attachment on the education of looked after children.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, their families/carers, and other professionals.
  • Experience of strategies to motivate and engage vulnerable children and young people.
Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
