About the Role

As a Religious Studies Teacher, you will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging students to develop respect, curiosity, and analytical skills through the study of religion, philosophy, and ethics.

The successful candidate will create a positive learning environment, maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement, and contribute to the wider life of the school community.

The role is for September 2026 and will be full time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Religious Studies lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Inspire students to engage with philosophical, ethical, and cultural topics
  • Differentiate teaching to support the needs of all learners
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
  • Monitor and assess student progress effectively
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour in line with school policies
  • Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives where appropriate

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Religious Studies within UK secondary schools
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • A passion for promoting tolerance, understanding, and critical thinking
  • Ability to motivate and inspire young people
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
