Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs (SEN)? Do you have the compassion, dedication, and skills to support their growth and development in a residential setting? If so, we want to hear from you!

The role:

We are working in partnership with an SEN School in Canterbury, committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for students with SEN. The residential support workers play a crucial role in creating a home-away-from-home atmosphere, ensuring that every child receives the care and attention they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with SEN in a residential setting.
  • Assist with daily routines, including personal care, meals, and recreational activities.
  • Implement individualized care plans and educational programs.
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment that encourages social, emotional, and educational development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on students' progress and well-being.
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures and ensure the safety and welfare of all residents.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a SEN or residential care setting.
  • Manual handling experince and training completed
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and procedures.
