Vision for Education are working with a secondary school in Blackburn that require a full time Teaching Assistant to support a child with autism.

The role

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with autism? Are you patient, empathetic, and committed to providing a supportive learning environment? If so, we invite you to join our team as a Teaching Assistant team, where you will work closely with a secondary school student with autism to help them succeed academically and socially.

You will provide one-on-one support and assistance to a student with autism in various classroom settings and assist the student in understanding and completing classroom assignments and tasks.

This role is to start ASAP and will be for the full academic year.

This is a 'Good' school based in Blackburn which has high standards and targets for its students to strive for. It expects the best provision for the children under its care and is led by an experienced Senior team who support their staff in all aspects of the job. The School offers excellent CPD and also provides a range of opportunities for progression within the role and the School.

Requirements

To be considered for the Teaching Assistant position, you will:

• Have experience working with secondary age children

• Hold a minimum Level 2 childcare qualification or equivalent

• Have excellent behaviour management skills

• Be a confident communicator, able to use your own initiative when required
