Vision for Education are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and strong SEN Support Worker for a setting in Blackpool, starting immediately.
About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed SEN Support Worker to make a difference to pupils lives and their experience of education.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be tasked with working with classes made up of students with SEN needs aged between 6 and 16 years old in small group and 1:1 settings.
Working under the direction of the class teacher, the ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will be energetic, flexible, positive and patient, with an ability to build strong working relationships with young people with barriers to learning. Experience working with EHCPs and individualised curricula is advantageous.
Duties will include:
- Supporting the class teacher to deliver work in accordance with the National Curriculum or individualised curricula based on EHCPs.
- Assisting the class teacher with behaviour management.
- Running small group and 1:1 sessions with direction from the class teacher.
- Ensuring the best possible progress for all students you work with.

The setting in Blackpool are seeking and engaging and proactive PRU Support Worker to join their motivated team. A warm and inclusive environment, they provide bespoke, child-centred, high quality education programmes, which aim to ensure that all the students individual educational needs are met. They offer provision for a range of students aged between 6 and 16, across KS2, KS3 and KS4, as a result of Managed Moves, Permanent Exclusions or out of area placements, meeting the needs of a diverse group of young people with a range of complex learning needs, social and emotional difficulties and challenging behaviour.
The school would particularly welcome candidates with experience of delivering numeracy, literacy or vocabulary related interventions.
Requirements
- Have experience working with either small groups or 1:1 with students who may demonstrate challenging behaviour and who may have Special Educational Needs.
- Be able to provide a safe and positive learning environment and de-escalate any threatening or aggressive behaviour.
- Mentor and engage with the students, successfully delivering specifically designed educational packages
- Be confident and have a positive approach that engages students in their learning
- Have excellent classroom management skills
- Ideally have experience leading Numeracy, Literacy or Vocabulary related interventions.
About Vision for Education
Salary
£70 to £90 per day
- Previous experience in a behaviour/support role
