Vision for Education is currently recruiting a passionate and dedicated SENCO to join a supportive and dynamic team at a unique SEN School in Cranbrook. This is a fulltime role and is due to start ASAP. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the provision for students with special educational needs and ensuring high quality, tailored learning experiences that promote progress and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the SEN department and support the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
- Ensure that students with SEN are supported effectively in their learning and personal development.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure that the best possible outcomes are achieved for all students.
- Monitor and assess the progress of SEN students, adapting strategies as needed to support their needs.
- Lead staff training on SEN best practices, ensuring continuous professional development within the team.
- Ensure the school meets legal and statutory requirements for SEN provision.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a qualification in Special Educational Needs (e.g., NASENCO) is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs, ideally within a SEN school setting.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
- Passionate about making a difference to the lives of children with SEN.
- An understanding of relevant policies and legislation related to SEN provision.
