The role

The role of a SEND Teaching Assistant is to foster a positive learning environment for students with mixed SEND needs, including those with ASD and ADHD. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will collaborate with the support team, teachers, and staff to create tailored support plans that engage and motivate students through innovative methods, such as sports-based activities and interactive learning strategies. Providing both one-on-one and group support, you'll adapt your approach to meet the unique needs of each student. Dedicated to supporting students with diverse challenges—including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities—the school strives to create an inclusive environment where every individual is encouraged to pursue their goals and make the most of available opportunities.

By recognising and utilising the unique strengths and abilities of each student, the school fosters an atmosphere of collaboration and mutual support, facilitating growth and development for all. They are committed to promoting a sense of self-worth and belonging, helping students navigate their educational journey and thrive within society. Through tailored support, innovative teaching methods, and a variety of interventions, the school ensures that all students can develop the skills they need to succeed academically, socially, and personally, while also addressing their specific needs and challenges.
