Vision for Education is looking to appoint an SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our successful supply team and working in a friendly primary school in the Durham area.

About the role

Working from as soon as possible, the successful candidate will be working full time, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm. Working as part of a dynamic and creative team in a primary school you will be providing support to some SEND children in Year 3 and 4 in the morning, then intervention work with KS2 in the afternoon. This will mostly be on reading and behavioural interventions. Previous experience supporting SEND children is essential. This post would suit a patient, caring and calm individual with a passion for supporting young children.

This village primary school provides good education to young children from Nursery to Year 6 and is also part of a large academic trust.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEND Teaching Assitant (SEND TA) you will:
  • Hold a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • Have experience of working as a Teaching Assistant in a school environment.
  • Be experienced in working with smaller nurture groups to boost attainment.
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff.
  • Ideally have experience delivering Literacy and Maths interventions.
  • Have experience in delivering 1:1 support and small group support.

Salary

£64 to £70 per day

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • Level 2 TA qualification and experience with both 1:1 support and SEND children would be an advantage.
