Teaching Assistant required for a specialist setting, supporting secondary aged boys with SEMH needs, starting immediately full time.
About the role
We are looking to recruit a confident and experienced Teaching Assistant on behalf of a specialist unit based in Newhaven. The Teaching Assistant role is due to start immediately on a full time basis until at least July 2022.
The Teaching Assistant will be working with boys across Key Stage 3 and 4 who are in a care setting, you will be supporting them in the school classroom as a general classroom Teaching Assistant and on a 1:1 basis. The Teaching Assistant will be working alongside experienced classroom teachers and additional Teaching Assistants.
About the school
The school is a small unit for boys attached to a residential care setting, it is a unique setting that are highly effective in supporting complex children who have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences. The unit cater to students aged between 11 – 16 who have SEMH needs.
The school aims to motivate children and young people to engage with education and overcome barriers to learning whilst inspiring learners to make positive life choices.
Requirements
- Ideally have experience within a SEND environment but this isn’t essential
- Have excellent behaviour management
- Have experience working with children aged between 11 -18
- Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff.
About Vision for Education
Salary
£70 to £90 per day
