A friendly primary school in the Cirencester area is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team. This Teaching Assistant role involves working closely with pupils who need additional support to access learning and feel confident in the classroom.

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll provide a mix of 1:1 and small group support, helping children with a range of needs including SEND, SEMH, autism and ADHD. The Teaching Assistant will play a key role in supporting behaviour, building confidence, and keeping pupils engaged throughout the school day.

You’ll be working alongside experienced teachers and SEN staff, following tailored support strategies and helping to maintain a positive and structured primary classroom environment.

What you’ll be doing as a Teaching Assistant
• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Helping children manage emotions, behaviour and routines
• Supporting learning across a range of primary subjects
• Encouraging confidence, independence and engagement
• Working closely with teachers and SEN staff

What we’re looking for in a Teaching Assistant
• Patient, reliable and able to build strong relationships
• Experience with SEND, SEMH or behaviour support is desirable
• Backgrounds in education, care, youth work or coaching are welcome
• Confident supporting children who may find school challenging
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach
• A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
