The Role
A secondary academy in the East Riding of Yorkshire seek to appoint an organised, flexible and dedicated Technician to join their Technology Faculty. As a Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Technology department by preparing materials, maintaining equipment and ensuring a safe working environment for staff and students. You will play an essential role in supporting teaching staff to ensure our students are provided with quality education. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a relevant discipline or similar environment. You will have expereince in the use of Band Saws and understanding of COSH is also desireable. Experience of working in an education setting is desirable but not essential.
The School
An East Riding based secondary academy, located approximately six miles to the west of Hull. The Academy forms part of a large multi academy trust that benefits hugely from collabrative practice and leadership.
Requirements
The desired Technician will have;
- GCSE grade C/4 or above, or equivalent, in Maths and English (C)
- Experience in using a Band Saw
- An understanding of COSH
- Excellent problem solving skills
- The ability to work closely with colleagues
This successful candidate may be offered this role on a 'temp to perm' basis, this would meant working on supply via Vision For Education for a term before transitioning to contract with the academy.
