At Vision for Education, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Specialist to join a primary school team, providing tailored support to students with autism and helping them reach their academic, social, and personal goals. The Role:
- Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support to students with autism, helping them engage positively with their learning.
- Support students in accessing the curriculum while developing their confidence, independence, and learning skills.
- Provide support with emotional regulation, social interaction, communication, and positive behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals to ensure a consistent and effective approach to student support.
- Implement personalised support plans and strategies that are responsive to each student’s individual needs and learning goals.
- Monitor and record students’ progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of their academic, social, and personal development.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, nurturing, and supportive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to achieve their potential.
The Setting –
- A secondary based setting, providing a highly nurturing, structured environment where each pupil receives tailored teaching, support, and care designed to help them thrive
- Encouraging each student to reach their full potential – academically, socially, emotionally by tailoring to individual strengths and needs as required
About you:
To be considered for the Autism Support Specialist role, you will:
Hold suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students.
Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
