Care to Classroom Support Assistant – SEND School (Hereford)
Location: Hereford
Type: Full-Time / Long-Term
Salary: £92–£105 per day (depending on experience and/or qualifications)
Start Date: October 2026.
The School and Role
Vision for Education are working with a specialist SEND setting in Hereford to recruit compassionate and dedicated individuals from care, healthcare, and support backgrounds who are looking to transition into education.
The setting supports young people aged 11–19 with severe and complex learning difficulties, autism, communication needs and a range of additional sensory, physical and medical needs. Students may require personalised support with communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs, independence and personal care.
As a Care to Classroom Support Assistant, you will use your existing care experience to support young people with their daily needs while helping them engage in learning, develop independence, and feel safe and valued in an educational environment.
Full support, guidance, and SEND-focused CPD will be provided to help you transition confidently into an education setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal and emotional support for young people with complex needs
- Support communication using visual and alternative methods
- Assist with personal care and physical needs where required
- Support young people in classroom learning, life skills and sensory activities
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
As a Care to Classroom Support Assistant with Vision for Education, You Will Receive:
Excellent daily rates paid using the PAYE system. (Daily rate is subject to your scale rate, experience in role and qualifications which will be discussed at the point of registration.)
