The role

Care to Classroom Support Workers are required to work across specialist SEND schools in Birmingham, providing essential support to pupils with complex needs, autism, and behavioural challenges. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in care, residential settings, or support work who are looking to develop a rewarding career within education.

As a Care to Classroom Support Worker, you will play an important role in supporting pupils with their personal care needs, behaviour management, and participation in classroom activities. You will help create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that every child feels supported and has the opportunity to thrive.

Requirements

The desired Care to Classroom Support Worker will have:

  • Experience in care, residential or support settings
  • A willingness to support personal care
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A calm, resilient and proactive approach
  • A passion for supporting children and young people with SEND

About you:

To be considered for the Care to Classroom Support Worker, you will:

Hold suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.

Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students

Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
