Classroom Learning Support Assistant | Frenchay, BS16

Vision for Education are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Classroom Learning Support Assistants to work across welcoming primary and secondary schools in Frenchay, BS16 and the surrounding areas.

This is a rewarding opportunity for anyone who enjoys working with children and young people and wants to make a positive difference to their learning and development. You’ll work alongside experienced teaching teams, helping pupils stay engaged, build confidence and get the most out of their time in school.

Whether you’re an experienced Teaching Assistant, Classroom Assistant or Learning Support Assistant, or have transferable experience from childcare, care, youth work, coaching or similar roles, we’d love to hear from you.

Previous school experience is beneficial but not essential. Training is available through Vision for Education, including support with safeguarding, SEND, behaviour management and classroom support, to help you feel confident in your role.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting pupils with classroom learning and activities.

• Working with individual pupils and small groups.

• Helping children with reading, writing, maths and other subjects.

• Keeping pupils engaged and encouraging participation.

• Supporting children with SEND and additional learning needs.

• Encouraging positive behaviour and classroom routines.

• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills.

• Creating a positive, welcoming and inclusive learning environment.

• Friendly, positive and patient.

• Confident communicating with children.

• Comfortable working as part of a team.

• Adaptable and happy to get involved.

• Keen to support learning and development.

• Previous experience with children is helpful but not essential.

• An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to apply for one.

• Right to Work in the UK.
