Vision for Education are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team. This rewarding role involves working closely with pupils who have a range of complex learning, physical, communication, sensory, and medical needs, helping them to access education and achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will work alongside teachers, therapists, and other professionals to provide high-quality, personalised support within the classroom and throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities -
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with complex needs (PMLD, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties)
- Assist pupils with learning activities tailored to their individual education plans.
- Support pupils with communication using appropriate strategies, including visual supports and alternative communication methods where required.
- Promote pupils independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and feeding.
- Implement behaviour support strategies consistently and positively.
- Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents/carers, and external professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and contribute to review meetings.
- Support pupils during educational visits, enrichment activities, and breaktimes as required.

- A primary based setting, providing a highly nurturing, structured environment where each pupil receives tailored teaching, support, and care designed to help them thrive
- Encouraging each student to reach their full potential – academically, socially, emotionally by tailoring to individual strengths and needs as required
About you:
To be considered for the Complex Needs Teaching Assistant role, you will:
Hold suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students.
Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
