Vision for Education is recruiting confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to provide short-term cover for teacher absences across both primary and secondary schools in East Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in different school environments and is confident managing classrooms, ensuring pupils remain engaged with the work set by the class teacher.

This position is offered on a zero-hours supply contract, giving you the flexibility to choose when you work while gaining experience across a range of local schools.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher.
• Supervise pupils across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Ensure pupils remain on task and complete the work provided.
• Liaise with teaching staff and report back on pupil progress and behaviour.
• Work in both primary and secondary school settings across East Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you will:

• Have previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar classroom-based role.
• Be confident leading a classroom and managing behaviour effectively.
• Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Be adaptable, professional and reliable.
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
