About the Role
We are recruiting confident, reliable, and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Southend-on-Sea from September. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced education professionals seeking classroom-based experience.
You will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-set work and maintaining a positive and focused learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise whole classes across a range of secondary subjects in the absence of teaching staff
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students remain on task
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Support students with completing set work
- Report any safeguarding or behavioural concerns to senior staff
- Contribute to a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment
About You
We are looking for individuals who are:
- Confident managing groups of secondary-aged students
- Strong communicators with a calm and professional approach
- Able to adapt quickly to different school settings and routines
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to supporting student learning
- Experience in education, coaching, youth work, or similar roles is desirable but not essential
