About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will lead pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. You will manage classroom behaviour, ensure students remain on task, and create a positive learning environment while supporting students throughout the school day.
This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, or individuals with experience working with young people who are seeking flexible work within secondary schools. Whether you're looking for daily supply, short-term placements, or long-term opportunities, Vision for Education can support your career goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Ensure students remain engaged and on task throughout lessons
- Support students with their learning where required
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons
- Adapt confidently to different school settings and year groups
Requirements
- Experience working with secondary-aged students or young people
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence leading a classroom independently
- Flexibility and adaptability across different school environments
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- A genuine passion for supporting young people and education
