Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a Teacher of Dance to join a welcoming secondary school in Kendal, Cumbria, starting in October 2026.

About the role

Are you a qualified Dance Teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity? Or do you have strong experience teaching Dance and are looking to take the next step in your career within a secondary school environment?

This could be the perfect opportunity for you.

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge and understanding of Dance and be able to plan and deliver engaging, creative and challenging lessons that meet the needs of students with a variety of abilities.

You will be required to teach Dance lessons within a supportive secondary school in Kendal. There may also be opportunities to support with PE, sports and general classroom cover where required.

We are particularly interested in hearing from qualified teachers, although applications will also be considered from individuals with significant Dance teaching experience who do not currently hold QTS.

For those who are new to working within a school environment, we can offer FREE training to help you adapt to classroom teaching and develop effective behaviour management strategies.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Teacher of Dance, you will ideally:

  • Have experience teaching Dance to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification, although this is not essential for candidates with relevant Dance teaching experience.
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of Secondary teachers.
  • Have a passion for Dance and education, with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring and engaging lessons.
  • Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills, or be willing to develop these skills.
  • Be able to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Have a creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching Dance.
