About the role

Reception Teacher – Full Time – October 2026 – April 2027

Darlington (DL3) – £121.50 to £150 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Vision for Education is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Reception Teacher to join our successful supply team and work within a welcoming primary school in the DL3 area of Darlington.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday during school hours. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Reception class, delivering engaging, creative, and age-appropriate learning experiences that support children's academic, social, emotional, and personal development.

The role will commence in October 2026 and continue until April 2027.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.

The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position is Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Previous experience teaching within Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), particularly Reception, would be advantageous.

The Role

Working as part of a supportive and experienced teaching team, the desired Reception Teacher will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality learning opportunities for young children.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Supporting children's communication, language, literacy, numeracy, physical, social, and emotional development.
  • Creating a positive, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Assessing, recording, and reporting on children's progress.
  • Differentiating learning activities to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Managing behaviour effectively and promoting positive relationships.
  • Supporting children to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies where required.
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school community.

The successful candidate will be passionate about Early Years education, committed to raising attainment, and able to inspire and nurture young children to achieve their full potential.

The School

This welcoming primary school in the DL3 area of Darlington is seeking a committed Reception Teacher to join their dedicated team.

The school prides itself on its friendly, supportive staff team and its strong, inclusive ethos, where both pupils and staff are encouraged to thrive. Leaders are committed to providing high-quality education and creating a positive learning environment in which children feel valued, supported, and encouraged to develop.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a school with a collaborative culture and a genuine focus on children's wellbeing, learning, and development.

Requirements

To be considered for the Reception Teacher position, you will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have experience teaching within a primary school setting.
  • Have experience working within EYFS or Reception.
  • Have a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
  • Be confident in planning, delivering, and assessing learning opportunities.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Have high expectations of children's achievement and development.
  • Be able to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • Have a genuine passion for Early Years teaching and learning.
