About the Role

Vision for Education are looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant to work on a part-time basis across a range of welcoming trust schools in and around the DL2 area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children in the Early Years and helping them develop through play, exploration, and engaging learning experiences. You will have the opportunity to work within different school environments, supporting Reception-aged children and working closely with teachers and school staff to create a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

The successful candidate will be flexible, adaptable, and committed to providing the best possible outcomes for every child. You will work across a range of schools within the trust and the surrounding local area, gaining valuable experience while supporting children with their learning, development, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Reception teachers in delivering engaging and age-appropriate learning activities.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children as required.
  • Support children's communication, language, physical, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist with phonics, early reading, early writing, and early maths activities.
  • Encourage children to develop independence, confidence, and positive relationships.
  • Support learning through play and practical, hands-on activities.
  • Help create a positive, safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, organisation, and learning resources.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support children's wellbeing.
  • Support children during transitions and daily classroom routines.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and other professionals where appropriate.
  • Adapt to the needs and expectations of different schools and settings within the trust.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children in a Reception or Early Years setting is desirable.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young children and their development.
  • An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
  • A patient, caring, and nurturing approach.
  • Flexibility and adaptability when working across different school settings.
  • Reliability and a proactive attitude.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

What We Offer

As a Teaching Assistant and valued member of our team, you will benefit from:

  • Excellent daily rates paid using the PAYE system.
  • Guaranteed pay scheme (subject to availability).
  • Opportunities to work across a range of schools within the local area.
  • The opportunity to gain valuable experience across different Reception and Early Years settings.
  • Social and networking events.
  • Pension contributions.
  • CPD to support your professional development.
  • Access to a dedicated consultant who will provide ongoing support.
