About the Role
Working in partnership with Northern Lights Learning Trust, Vision for Education are looking to recruit an experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant to work on a part-time basis within a welcoming Reception environment in the Darlington area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is committed, enthusiastic, caring, and passionate about supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
You will work within a supportive Reception setting, helping children develop their confidence, independence, communication, social skills, and early learning through engaging, creative, and age-appropriate activities.
This is a part-time position, ideal for a Teaching Assistant seeking a flexible role within an Early Years setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating Reception environment.
- Support children's learning and development across the EYFS framework.
- Assist with engaging play-based and adult-led learning activities.
- Support children's communication, language, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Encourage children to develop confidence, independence, and positive relationships.
- Support children during classroom routines, transitions, and activities.
- Help children develop early literacy and numeracy skills through age-appropriate activities.
- Promote positive behaviour using consistent, encouraging, and age-appropriate strategies.
- Support children with different abilities and individual learning needs.
- Help prepare and organise classroom resources and learning activities.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider school team to support children's progress.
- Contribute to creating an inclusive and positive learning environment where every child feels valued.
What We're Looking For
- A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant/Early Years qualification is desirable.
- Experience working within an EYFS or Reception setting is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working within a primary school or Early Years environment.
- A genuine passion for supporting young children's learning and development.
- A nurturing, patient, and caring approach.
- The ability to build positive relationships with children.
- Good understanding of the importance of play-based learning and child development.
- The ability to support children's communication, social, emotional, and personal development.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- The ability to adapt activities and support to meet individual children's needs.
- Flexibility and commitment to working on a part-time basis.
