About the role
ECT Primary Teacher – Stoke-on-Trent & Newcastle-under-Lyme
Full-Time or Part-Time | Early Career Teachers Welcome
£650–£800 per week | £130–£160 per day | Weekly Pay | Induction-Friendly Placements
You've got your Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), you're ready to teach, but you haven't quite found the right school or permanent classroom yet.
You're not alone – and we can help!
At Vision for Education, we work with primary schools across Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme, offering opportunities for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to gain experience, build confidence and secure their next teaching position.
Whether you're looking for flexible day-to-day supply, regular weekly work or a longer-term placement that supports your ECT induction, we'd love to hear from you.
Many of our longer-term teaching placements begin with just one day's supply cover, giving both the teacher and the school an opportunity to get to know each other.
Can Supply Teaching Count Towards Your ECT Induction?
Yes – provided the placement meets the relevant induction requirements.
A placement lasting at least one term in the same school may count towards your statutory ECT induction, provided the appropriate induction arrangements are in place.
Short-term and day-to-day supply placements won't count towards induction, but they can provide valuable classroom experience while helping you build relationships with local schools.
We'll always be upfront about which opportunities can support your induction before you accept a placement.
What Does the Role Involve?
-
Day-to-day supply teaching with lesson plans provided and typically no additional marking or data responsibilities to take home.
-
Short-term placements covering staff absence, training, PPA and other school requirements.
-
Long-term teaching opportunities, including placements of a term or more that may support ECT induction.
-
Teaching across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
-
Working with welcoming primary school teams across Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme.
-
Developing classroom management skills, confidence and professional relationships.
Whether you prefer Reception, KS1 or KS2, we'll aim to match you with schools and year groups that suit your strengths and preferences.
Who Are We Looking For?
We welcome applications from:
-
ECTs who qualified in 2025 or 2026 and haven't yet started their induction.
-
ECTs part-way through their induction who are looking for a suitable school to continue.
-
Newly Qualified Teachers looking to explore different schools before committing to a permanent position.
-
Teachers seeking flexible, part-time or full-time opportunities.
-
Enthusiastic primary teachers who want to build experience and confidence in the classroom.
You don't need years of experience!
Your teaching placements, enthusiasm and willingness to learn are valuable, and we'll help you find opportunities where you can continue developing.

We understand that starting your teaching career can feel uncertain, which is why we focus on helping you find the right schools, the right experience and the right opportunities.
Our goal is to help you build a successful teaching career – not just fill your diary.
