Vision for Education are currently recruiting a Cover Estates Technician to work within a local school in Stoke-on-Trent, with the role required ASAP.

About the role

As a Cover Estates Technician, you will support the day-to-day running, maintenance and security of the school site. You will help ensure the school premises, facilities and grounds are safe, secure, clean and well maintained, responding to maintenance issues and supporting the wider school team where required.

This role is ideal for an experienced Estates, Facilities or Maintenance professional looking for a school-based opportunity. The successful candidate will be practical, reliable and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and respond effectively to a range of site-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs across the school site
  • Help ensure the school buildings, facilities and grounds are safe and well maintained
  • Respond to day-to-day maintenance issues and site requirements
  • Carry out regular checks of the premises and report any issues appropriately
  • Support the opening, closing and security of the school site where required
  • Assist with moving furniture, equipment and resources around the school
  • Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for students and staff
  • Liaise with contractors and external service providers when required
  • Follow school health and safety procedures and safeguarding requirements
  • Support the wider school team with general estates and facilities duties

About the school

You will be working within a welcoming and supportive school in Stoke-on-Trent, helping to ensure the site is safe, functional and ready for students and staff each day.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in estates, facilities, maintenance or a similar role
  • Practical maintenance skills and a hands-on approach
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Availability to start ASAP
