About the role

Early Years Teaching Assistant – 2–3 Days per Week – Immediate Start

TS10 Area – £90–£100 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Vision for Education is seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our successful supply team and work within a welcoming primary school or early years setting in the TS10 area.

This is a part-time, ongoing role, working 2–3 days per week within an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) setting. The successful candidate will support young children's learning and development, helping to create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can thrive.

The role is available for an immediate start and is expected to continue on an ongoing basis.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, and qualifications.

Previous experience working within an EYFS setting is essential for this position. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of early years development and be confident supporting young children through play-based learning and everyday classroom activities.

The Role

Working as part of a supportive and experienced team, the desired Early Years Teaching Assistant will help deliver engaging learning experiences that support children's communication, physical development, social skills, emotional wellbeing, and early learning.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the class teacher and EYFS team in delivering engaging, age-appropriate learning activities.

  • Supporting children's learning through play-based activities and structured tasks.

  • Encouraging the development of early communication, language, literacy, and numeracy skills.

  • Supporting children's personal, social, and emotional development.

  • Helping children develop independence, confidence, and positive relationships.

  • Supporting activities linked to the EYFS framework and areas of learning.

  • Creating a safe, inclusive, stimulating, and nurturing learning environment.

  • Encouraging curiosity, creativity, exploration, and active participation.

  • Supporting classroom routines, transitions, snack times, and daily activities.

  • Promoting positive behaviour using consistent, age-appropriate strategies.

  • Observing children's engagement and progress and sharing relevant information with the class teacher.

  • Preparing and organising resources for indoor and outdoor learning activities.

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to meet children's individual needs.

  • Supporting safeguarding procedures and ensuring children's health, safety, and wellbeing at all times.

The successful candidate will be nurturing, adaptable, and confident working with young children, with a genuine passion for early years education and helping children build strong foundations for future learning.

The Setting

This welcoming school or early years setting in the TS10 area is seeking an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to support its dedicated team for 2–3 days per week.

The setting aims to provide a positive and inclusive environment where children can learn through play, develop essential skills, and build confidence in their early years.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous EYFS experience who is looking for a flexible, part-time role within a supportive educational environment.

Requirements

To be considered for the Early Years Teaching Assistant position, you will:

  • Have previous experience working within an EYFS or early years setting.

  • Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.

  • Be confident supporting play-based learning and age-appropriate activities.

  • Have a genuine passion for supporting young children's learning and development.

  • Be patient, caring, enthusiastic, and reliable.

  • Be able to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and families.

  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Be confident supporting children's communication, social, emotional, and physical development.

  • Understand the importance of safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.

  • Be proactive, flexible, and able to adapt to the needs of the setting.

  • Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).

  • Be available to work 2–3 days per week on an ongoing basis.

  • Be available for an immediate start.
