SEN Teaching Assistant – York

Start date: ASAP

Are you somebody with experience providing support across SEN classes that would be interested in an exciting new role for the rest of the academic year, with a view to extension for November onward? Vision for Education are currently seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and work in a highly supportive primary school in York. Whilst the school do have a preference for full time to aid with continuity, part time might be workable on a potential job share.

Key requirements:

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in SEN
• A nurturing personality that will help keep children engaged in the classroom
• The ability to work well in a team
• The ability to be flexible and offer classroom support in different classes if needed
• A DBS that is registered to the Update Service (we can help facilitate this if required)

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer general classroom support to teaching staff to help with lesson delivery

• Provide small group and 1-1 support to SEN learners

• Help to create a safe and nurturing environment that keeps children feeling safe and engaged

• Promote positive behaviour and help with classroom management whilst adhering to the school behaviour policy
