About the Role
We are seeking confident and adaptable General Cover Teachers to work across secondary schools in Chelmsford from September. This role is ideal for qualified teachers, early career teachers, or experienced educators looking for flexible or day-to-day teaching opportunities.
As a General Cover Teacher, you will deliver pre-set lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons across various secondary subjects
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Ensure students remain engaged, focused, and on task
- Adapt teaching style to suit different year groups and abilities
- Provide clear feedback to school staff following lessons
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment
About You
We are looking for individuals who are:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (desirable for most roles)
- Confident delivering lessons across a range of subjects
- Strong classroom managers with a calm and professional approach
- Flexible, reliable, and able to adapt quickly to new environments
- Passionate about supporting student learning and development
