About the role

Vision for Education are looking for passionate, caring and motivated Student Nurses to join our team supporting children and young people within SEND schools across Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your nursing skills in a specialist educational environment, while making a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

The Role

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing day-to-day support to pupils.
  • Supporting children with complex and additional healthcare needs.
  • Monitoring pupils' health and wellbeing and recognising changes in their condition.
  • Working closely with teachers, teaching assistants, parents/carers and other healthcare professionals.
  • Promoting dignity, independence, inclusion and positive wellbeing.
  • Providing reassurance and compassionate support to pupils throughout the school day

Requirements

You will have:

  • Experience in care, residential or support settings
  • Student Nurses who are nearing completion of their nursing degree and looking to gain experience within a specialist setting.
  • A willingness to support personal care
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A calm, resilient and proactive approach
  • A passion for supporting children and young people with SEND

About you:

To be considered, you will:

Hold suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.

Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students

Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
