Learning Support Assistant – Primary Schools

About the Role

Vision for Education is seeking caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work across a variety of friendly and supportive primary schools in Southend-on-Sea.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to help them access learning.
• Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Provide additional support for pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND where required.
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
• Help create a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assist with classroom preparation and learning resources.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, teachers, parents and other school staff.

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this role, you will:

• Have experience working with children or young people, ideally in a primary school or educational setting.
• Be patient, adaptable and passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
• Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Be reliable, flexible and committed to making a positive difference.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one through Vision for Education.
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
