Vision for Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive school in York to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) on a Temp to Permanent basis.

You'll play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential within a supportive and nurturing school environment.

The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons across the curriculum.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs and encourage independence.
- Promote positive behaviour and support pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff.
- Prepare learning resources and contribute to maintaining an engaging classroom environment.
- Support pupils during breaktimes, educational visits and other school activities where required.
- Work closely with teachers, the SEND team and parents to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or within an educational setting.
- A good understanding of supporting pupils with SEND.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, patient and adaptable approach.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
