Vision for Education are working with a welcoming secondary school in Bristol who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with young people and supporting students who need additional help to succeed.

The school is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic TA who can provide consistent support both inside and outside of the classroom.

The role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students who require additional help with their learning, confidence and engagement in lessons. You may work on a 1:1 basis, support small groups or assist within the classroom alongside teachers.

You will help students overcome barriers to learning, encourage independence and provide support with their academic, social and emotional development.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will be patient, approachable and confident building strong relationships with secondary-aged students. Experience supporting SEND, SEMH or challenging behaviour would be beneficial, but a positive attitude and willingness to support young people are essential.

Requirements

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant role, you'll:

  • Have previous experience working with children or young people.
  • Be confident supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis.
  • Have a patient, positive and encouraging approach.
  • Be able to build trusting relationships with secondary-aged pupils.
  • Ideally have experience supporting SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs.
  • Hold, or be willing to apply for, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
  • Be able to provide suitable references.
