Vision for Education is recruiting aspiring Learning Support Assistants to join our fully funded Training Programme, giving you the opportunity to gain paid experience in local schools while developing the skills needed for a long-term career in education.

Whether you've worked in care, hospitality, retail, customer service, childcare, healthcare, coaching or another people-focused role, you may already have the transferable skills schools are looking for.

No previous classroom experience is necessary – we'll provide the training, guidance and ongoing support to help you succeed.

The role

As a Trainee Learning Support Assistant, you'll work alongside teachers to support pupils with their learning, wellbeing and development throughout the school day.

You'll help create a positive learning environment by:

• Supporting pupils during lessons and classroom activities.

• Encouraging confidence, independence and engagement.

• Assisting children who may need additional learning or emotional support.

• Promoting positive behaviour and helping pupils reach their full potential.

• Building positive relationships with pupils and school staff.

You'll gain valuable experience across a variety of educational settings, allowing you to develop your confidence while discovering the type of school environment that's right for you.

About you

We're looking for people who are:

• Passionate about supporting children and young people.

• Friendly, patient and reliable.

• Confident communicating with both children and adults.

• Eager to learn and develop new skills.

• Interested in building a long-term career within education.

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial, although not essential:

• Care or support work

• Healthcare or the NHS

• Childcare

• Sports coaching

• Retail

• Hospitality

• Customer service

• Youth work

• Any other people-focused role
