About the role

Teacher of Boys' Physical Education (PE)

Location: Coastal East Riding of Yorkshire
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (pro rata where applicable)
Contract Type: Full Time – Fixed Term (with the potential to become permanent)
Start Date: September 2026

This role is offered on a fixed-term basis in the first instance, with the potential to become a permanent position for the successful candidate. Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about delivering outstanding physical education and promoting participation in sport.

The Role

The school is seeking a passionate Teacher of Boys' PE who can:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 where appropriate.
  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of students with varying abilities and sporting experience.
  • Inspire students to develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and a lifelong commitment to physical activity.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback and implement effective intervention strategies where required.
  • Contribute to a successful extracurricular sports programme, including coaching school teams and supporting fixtures and sporting events.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes achievement, participation and excellent behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student success and contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Teacher of Boys' PE, you will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Have experience teaching Physical Education within a secondary school setting.
  • Be confident delivering engaging and inclusive PE lessons across a range of sports and activities.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Have the enthusiasm to contribute to extracurricular sport and wider school activities.
  • Be committed to supporting all students to achieve their full potential and develop positive attitudes towards health and fitness.
  • Have a genuine passion for physical education and inspiring young people through sport.
