About the role

As a PE Teacher, you will deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop their physical skills, confidence and understanding of sport and healthy lifestyles.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering effective lessons, managing behaviour and creating a positive learning environment where all students are encouraged to participate and achieve.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Teach a range of sports and physical activities in line with the school curriculum
• Encourage participation, teamwork, confidence and positive attitudes towards physical activity
• Maintain a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
• Manage classroom and sporting behaviour in line with school policies
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs and abilities of all students
• Assess student progress and provide appropriate feedback
• Support students in developing their physical skills and knowledge
• Build positive relationships with students and school staff
• Adapt confidently to different school environments and facilities
• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities where required

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
• A relevant PE or Physical Education teaching qualification
• Experience teaching PE within a secondary school setting
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence teaching a range of sports and physical activities
• Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
• Flexibility and adaptability across different schools
• A genuine commitment to supporting students' learning, development and wellbeing
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
• Right to work in the UK
