About the role
Vision for Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist to work within a SEND school. You will be supporting in creating a positive, nurturing, and communication-friendly learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
The role –
- Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group speech and language support to pupils with a range of communication needs.
- Support pupils in developing their expressive and receptive language, social communication, and interaction skills.
- Use visual aids, communication tools, and alternative communication methods to enhance pupil engagement and understanding.
- Encourage the development of confidence, independence, and effective communication across the school day.
- Adapt communication approaches to meet the individual needs of pupils with autism, speech and language difficulties, and other SEND requirements.
- Support pupils during classroom activities, social situations, and transitions to promote successful participation and inclusion.
- Help create a positive, nurturing, and communication-friendly learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
- Promote pupils' emotional wellbeing by supporting communication as a tool for self-expression, relationship building, and self-regulation.
- Maintain safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional standards at all times while working on a flexible supply basis.

About you:
To be considered for the Speech and Language Therapist role, you will:
Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students.
Experience using Aided Language Displays, Visual Symbols and Makaton.
Masters in Speech and Language Therapy.
Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
